Finding The Perfect Accommodation In Malaysia
Staying in the most idylic beach hut in Southeast Asia.

As a backpacker coming across the perfect accommodation is rarer than rocking horse manure.  Having to settle is in our nature.  A great location but no aircon, an affordable price but terrible staff, breakfast included but too noisy; all conundrums that arise when scrolling through the likes of Booking.com and Hostelworld.  Until now….

Beach Shack Tioman is perfect, idyllic, a backpackers dream.  Totally removed from the outside world, Juara beach hosts a handful of small resorts, one of them being Beach Shack.

A night in your own beach hut will set you back a minor £14.  This cost also includes a free breakfast of which you must choose the Roti Cori.  Open to hire are paddleboards, kayaks, snorkelling equipment and much more, but most of your days will be spent stroking the countless rescue cats or resting in hammocks forgetting about the stress of night buses and 14 person dorm rooms.

The most soporific 4 days of my otherwise hectic travelling life, This relaxation retreat is a must for any backpacker travelling Malaysia.
